I am greatly honoured to have extracts from the preface I wrote for the book A Rose for your Pocket published in this book by Ajahn Viradhammo. The Mother and the Monk is a personal story of Ajahn, depicting his relationship with his mother and expresses the importance of gratitude to our parents for all the kindnesses and blessings that they have showered upon us.
